This was an exciting find at @waitrose yesterday! I have a 0 tolerance for preservatives, fillers, additives, and any of that other junk so I was so excited to find this 💯% clean, real food Cacao & Cardamom drink from @loveraw that tastes just like chocolate milk! And it was sooooo good! How good? My morning tea... ☕️ Having a cup (or 3) of tea in the morning is my morning ritual and something that happens about 352 days a year. There’s something about a freshly brewed cuppa that just sets the right tone for the day. I simply don’t feel complete until I take that first sip! Sometimes it’s more on the go but this morning I got to sit by the window with my matcha 🍵 and finish reading Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan, which is an entertaining book and a great read! . . Matcha today was with 1 tsp @wildfoodsco matcha powder, 1 scoop @vitalproteins collagen, splash of @innocent unsweetened almond milk, 2 cups boiled water, and mint leaves, all blended up in my vitamix to make it frothy. My experiment with cold brew tea... . . I saw someone post about cold brew tea recently and was like...whaaat!? Didn’t realize that was a thing! I hit up Google and found some guidance on @cookieandkate to help me get started. . . I tried 4 different teas, three with bags and one loose leaf (white lavender). Basically, you add 1 teabag or 1 tsp of looseleaf per 8 oz and let sit in the fridge for 6-12 hours. I left them in the fridge for about 30 hours just because I forgot about them! 😂 All four teas turned out well, but the darker herbal teas definitely had better flavor. If I do the turmeric again, I’ll add an extra tea bag. . . I usually just make my herbal ice tea by first making hot tea, letting it cool, and sticking in the fridge. This method is easier because it doesn’t require the boiling, but takes longer to steep. The upside is that I can make 4 different types of tea with 2 minutes of effort. I could not be more excited about finding these spiral wide-mouth Ball jars AND drink lids with extra thick straws!!!!!!! They were just sitting there when I walked into the grocery store today, calling my name. It’s only because my husband was with me that I didn’t buy every last one in the display. 😂 . The sunshine over the weekend was amazing for taking great food pictures! But now we’re back to the more standard grey and misty English weather. I’m ok with that though—it’s a good excuse to curl up on the couch with a cup of tea and a good book! . . My current tea obsession is Earl Grey, and the Earl Grey Bergamot from @wildfoodsco is my absolute favorite (figures that I’m in the UK but my favorite tea is from a US company right??). So much so that I just finished the bag this morning. I actually didn’t have enough to make a full pot so I added a scoop of @etcc_uk Heather Tea to make sure it was strong enough. Another great dish to bring to a party is salsa, especially when paired with @sietefoods tortilla chips! I threw 4 ingredients into the food processor to make this simple and flavorful salsa—tomatoes, cilantro, salt, and lime. Just stuffed the processor full and pulsed until chopped, and added more lime and salt to taste. This Cilantro Lime Potato Salad from @paleomg is the perfect paleo dish to bring to a BBQ or get-together! First, it has so many vibrant colors, and second, it’s crazy delicious! The lime and cilantro flavors make my mouth happy! . . Made a double batch and skipped the jalapeño to keep it kid friendly. Otherwise made as directed. The perfect afternoon snack for this muggy, warm English day! A strawberry cheesecake smoothie from @paleorunningmomma! . My son came in from outside all sweaty and stinky and said he wanted that running smoothie....huh? Took me a minute to realize he wanted the cheesecake smoothie from @paleorunningmomma 😂😂 . It took less than 5 minutes to blend up and it’s soooo yummy. We had the original version the other day and it totally tastes like cheesecake! I added freshly picked strawberries from @milletsfarm today and made it a strawberry cheesecake smoothie. O. M. G. Sooooooo flippin’ good! Definitely tastes like strawberry cheesecake, with a hint of strawberry milk, which oddly I’ve been craving lately. . Completely naturally sweetened, full of good-for-you fats and nutrients, and easy to make.
